My Favorite YouTubers
So there are three women that I like to check on from time to time and they don't even know who I am. This is what the world has come to with the invention on YouTube.
I actually love YouTube. And so do my kids. It's strange because I get after my kids all the time from watching YouTube but they really just love it as much as I do and for the same reasons.
Don't know what to cook for dinner? Google YouTube for easy, five star review, recipes. Trying to put together that thing from the store but don't really understand what the directions are telling you? Look it up on YouTube and watch someone else go through the steps and pause when you need to. Going on a vacation and want to hear about the best restaurants, shops or experiences? There's a travel vlog out there with your name on it!
My boys like YouTube because they can watch other kids play with the same toys they have. They can watch grown men transform Transformers. They can also watch others play video games that they are interested in.
Some of the channels that I like to check in every few weeks are:
The Personal Philosophy Project
Do It on a Dime
Vasseur Beauty
The Personal Philosophy Project is Cinzia (the YouTuber) speaking from her heart and mind, covering philosophy, productivity, and minimalism. I really like that she is honest and vulnerable about her journey with her body image, with what life is really about and the pains of consumerism.
In 2019, she went on a "No Buy" year where she literally didn't buy anything unless it was the necessities or to replace something of great importance. She identities as someone who used to love to shop and explore thrift stores, something that I too, identify with. Cinzia's videos are always filmed in her home/apartment with a full bookshelf in the background. If Reese Witherspoon ever produces the hilarious book from her book club reading, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine; Cinzia would be amazing as the lead. Just make sure you mention me in the casting credits.
Do It on a Dime follows a once school teacher, now mother of two young boys, Kathryn. Her video subjects are: budgeting, cleaning, organizing and DIY projects. A lot of her videos are projects based off of Dollar Tree finds, which is just plain good ol' frugal fun. She is very bubbly and optimistic. I love her video when her and her hubby go to Japan to visit family. Kathryn also talks about personal things like dealing with a brother that committed suicide and her hubby has Crohn's disease. Painful things, but sadly, things that too, too many deal with as well.
And lastly, the Vasseuer Beauty channel. Brittany lives in San Diego and covers: life hacks, organizing, best Amazon purchases, day in the life videos and self improvement. She also is very bubbly and positive, does a lot of reading and research in the topics she covers, and like, how cool would it be to have a year pass to the San Diego zoo. Living in Canada, watching her channel is great environmental escapism!
