Advise from Mr. Bradbury
Famed author, Ray Bradbury had a sign above his typewriter with two simple words "Don't Think!" How many times do we over-analyze a task instead of just doing it? I know I have fallen victim to this way of thinking many times. It's in the moments of inspiration without restraint that things get done. When I over-think a situation, I put more stress on the task than is needed. If I don't give it an A+ effort, what is the point of even trying? I remember a saying, from a podcast that I enjoy, basically saying, screw that way of thinking and a B or heck, B- effort is more than good because many of the A+ thinkers, don't even try so it positively inflates your effort into a higher category. Does that make sense? Thus, making a B - effort, because there is no others in the ring, into a A. If there is something you want to do. Do it. Approach it immediately and get it done.
