One year older and wiser too!

For my birthday present this year I was lucky enough to get a sick baby. Dreams do come true. Thankfully he is still a happy, sick baby (as long as he gets picked up and cuddled on demand). He seriously would be bouncing his little heart out on his jumper of jolliness, stop...look at me (as I am sitting nearby at the computer) start coughing, throw up mucus... smile, and then start jumping again. What a kid!

Because of his persistent coughing, I thought it would be best to lay low on the actual date of my birth and spent some time watching Extreme Couponing (Netflix cancellation scheduled April 6th, I am actually getting rid of it, I swear!). One episode featured twin sisters who love to spend their birthday together to get FREE stuff. This lead me to do a little research on what kind of freebies are offered on birthdays in Canada.

If you do a little work and sign up on a lot of the "clubs" or mailing list/newsletters on various stores websites you will be surprised on what kind of goodies will be available to you. NOTE: it is best to make a seperate email account so that the one you frequently use does not fill up full of junkmail (expect to get some). For instance, ours is freekeyes@gmail.com, (nice name, right?)

This is some of things that I found:
-Dairy Queen, Blizzard of the Month Club offers a Bogo blizzard coupon that expires 2 weeks after your birthday
-Sephora, just go into the cosmetic store and talk to a cashier, they will enter an email address into their system and you get a FREE sample size mascara and stick of blush (I did this, they are pretty awesome).
-Denny's FREE build your own Grand Slam (bring ID) and they are open 24hrs, bonus
-Booster Juice FREE drink
-Tony Romas FREE entree and small dessert (sadly, there is not one located in Ottawa)
-Starbucks FREE drink
-Baskin Robbins BOGO icecream cones
-Orange Julius BOGO smoothies
-Old Navy coupon for $10 off, (something like that)
-Pizza Pizza for kids 12 and under FREE slice of pizza and pop (Big Guy wants to do this on Little Dragon's first birthday and then eat it himself)

There you have it my friends, I challenge you to do some of these on your special day. It only happens once a year so take full advantage of it!

Next post to come... what we did this past weekend! CABIN A SUCRE! (aka: sap house, sugar shack, sugar shanty, sugar cabin, aka: place where Little Dragon danced the night away).
